But as good things are not always meant to last, South Border has gone through its share of ups and downs. Having replaced members more often than they release albums, Jay Durias is the only original member that has stayed and has continued to create music that thrills its fans.

Shamrock – Alipin

The band Shamrock gained popularity in the Philippines by singing theme songs of TV series in the Philippines like Captain Barbel, Jumong, Jewel in the Palace, and many more. Although Shamrock is already considered a popular band and their songs are played on almost every radio station, they still continue to do theme songs for TV shows of the GMA Network.

The video below is their song Alipin which was used for the hit TV Koreanovela Jewel in the Palace.

Jay-R – Stick with You

Dubbed as the R&B Prince, Jay-R (Gaudencio Aquino Sillona III) is one of the regular mainstays of the noontime show SOP along with other artists like Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, and is often paired with Kyla, the Philippine’s R&B Princess.

Jay-R’s music is a mixture of rap, pop, and R&B, but his vocal range is not to be undermined as he can easily belt out to different tunes and can do duets with the country’s premier singers. The video below is Jay-R with Kyla, singing a duet of Stick with You by the Pussycat Dolls on SOP.

M.Y.M.P. – Especially for You

Make Your Momma Proud (M.Y.M.P) is a Filipino acoustic band known for covering old songs and reviving them into acoustic songs. The band is composed of Juris Fernandez on lead vocals and Chin Alcantara on guitar and occasional vocals.

The band is an easy favorite among romantics but at the same time receives heavy criticism due to the fact that they do very few original songs.
