Power to Unite

This video, Power to Unite, was directed by Louie Ignacio and also recently won in the prestigious New York Festivals last February 1. The said music video won a Gold Medal Award under the entertainment category. The music video was produced and the song composed by Elvira Go of the National Bible Quiz, Inc., with Rene Martinez performing the song and Charo Unite providing the melody. This is also the first time for a Filipino to win in the entertainment category in the New York Festivals.

M.Y.M.P. - Especially for You

Make Your Momma Proud (M.Y.M.P) is a Filipino acoustic band known for covering old songs and reviving them into acoustic songs. The band is composed of Juris Fernandez on lead vocals and Chin Alcantara on guitar and occasional vocals.

The band is an easy favorite among romantics but at the same time receives heavy criticism due to the fact that they do very few original songs.

Lani Misalucha is a Filipina pop, r&b, opera singer, and one of the acclaimed singers from the Philippine music industry. Prior to residing and performing at the Flamingo, Las Vegas with the variety troupe Society of Seven, she was also previously a tv host and regular mainstay for SOP with other singers like Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, and Kyla. She is also often referred to as Asia’s Nightingale.

Sharon Cuneta is a popular Filipina actress, tv host, singer, and endorser. She is also the first Filipina artist to sell out at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium in 1988 and her latest concert in June 2005. Her poster can be found in The Shrine’s Hall of Fame beside Michael Jackson’s and Barbara Streisand’s. She was also awared with an Honorary Key to the City of Los Angeles by former LA Mayor Tom Bradley back in the 90’s.

Philippine R&B Princess Kyla

Kyla is the Philippine’s R&B princess. A very promising singer at the age of 23, Kyla has received various music awards including the Best New Artist award at the MTV Philippines and Awit Awards.

Kyla is a regular host of the noontime variety show SOP where other popular singers like Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid are also part of. Her most recent activities include singing the Philippine national hymn at the Pacquiao-Morales fight last October 6, 2007.

Regine Velasquez is one of the most popular singers, tv host, and actress in the Philippines. Born in April 22, 1970, she is known for her vocal range and has performed with various international stars like Mandy Moore, Stephen Bishop, Coco Lee, and Peabo Bryson, to name a few. Most of the younger singers like Kyla and Jasmine Trias often refer to Regine Velasquez as their idol in singing.

In the MTV Awards 2002, Regine Velasquez and Mandy Moore performed a duet of Mandy Moore’s single “Cry,” the video below.

Ogie Alcasid is a popular tv host, singer and songwriter. He has regualr tv appearances in GMA Network shows like Bubble Gang, SOP, and the Philippine version of Celebrity Duets which he co-hosts with Regine Velasquez.

His songs include Nandito Ako, Sa Kanya, Bakit Ngayon ka Lang, Please Don’t Go Away, and You were There, to name a few.
